President, Toledo Federation of Teachers

Kevin Dalton is the president of the Toledo Federation of Teachers (TFT), a leadership position he has held since 2012. A Toledo native and University of Toledo graduate, he began his career in education as a first-grade teacher at Birmingham Elementary. The TFT represents thousands of local teachers, paraprofessionals, and nurses, routinely leading critical contract negotiations and advocating for public schools.

Mr. Dalton presently serves as a vice president for the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). An AFT vice president is a member of the national executive council, helping to shape union policy, manage the budget, and represent constituent groups between national conventions

At the state level, Dalton is a member of the Executive Committee for the Ohio Federation of Teachers. Through this position, he directly influences statewide educational legislation and labor advocacy efforts.

Regionally, he is a commissioner for Metroparks Toledo and held the position of Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Greater Northwest Ohio AFL-CIO, coordinating labor initiatives across multiple industries.
