Jane Haggerty
President, Youngstown Education Association
I have been an educator since 1991 in various capacities within Northeast Ohio. My scope of experience has included four years as a daycare/daycamp activity coordinator, four years of substitute teaching, two years in the catholic diocese, and twenty-five years in public education for YCSD. I hold a general education license which has allowed me to teach all four of the core subjects, in many different grade levels, primarily in the upper elementary grades. I have had a lot of different experiences through my career, and have met a plethora of highly intelligent and wonderful people. My experiences have shown me that educators, by nature, are reflective, resilient and conscientious people who will do whatever it takes to help our students succeed and mature.
I currently live in Austintown, OH, with my husband of thirty years, Shawn Haggerty, and our three dogs, Bandit, Betty and Jax. My daughter, Emily, has recently been hired into the Youngstown City School DIstrict as a fifth grade teacher, and resides in Youngstown.
